The first fecal metaproteomic profile of celiac disease patients on a gluten-free diet has been released. This resource provides a functional snapshot of the biological activities performed by gut microbes in these patients, establishing a useful foundation for future studies aimed at exploring the complex interplay between the gut microbiome, dietary habits, and autoimmune diseases.
