Trace elements in follicular fluid and serum of women undergoing ART: preliminary associations with oocytes, endometrium, fertilization and β-hCG

Exploratory study of 31 women undergoing assisted reproduction: 12 trace elements were measured in follicular fluid and serum by ICP-MS. Follicular Cu and Zn were associated with more retrieved oocytes, while Cu, V and Zn were linked to thinner endometrium. In serum, Co, Fe and Mn showed positive associations with endometrium and oocyte maturation; Ni and V with lower β-hCG positivity.
