Seminar | Prof. Robert Hirt – Interactions between mucosal parasites and the microbiota

The Department is pleased to announce a seminar by Prof. Robert Hirt (Emeritus Professor of Evolutionary Parasitology, Newcastle University), focusing on the interactions between mucosal microbial parasites and the microbiota and their role in pathogenesis.

The seminar will explore the relationships between microsporidia and epithelial cells, as well as the interactions between Trichomonas and the microbiota, from an evolutionary and “One Health” perspective.

The seminar will take place on Tuesday, May 5 at 3:30 PM in Aula A of the Biomedical Complex (Viale San Pietro 43B). A live YouTube stream will also be available.
